Introducing: Rev. Elizabeth Pruitt-Sloan Known to multitudes simply as "Sister Elizabeth," the ministry of Rev. Elizabeth Pruitt-Sloan is a multifaceted one that reflects the depth of her spiritual heritage.
Auspicious Beginnings: Within only days of Elizabeth's birth, she was thrust literally into the center stage while her parents were attending Aimee Semple-McPherson's church. Pictured here, Sister Aimee, known for her dramatic "illustrated sermons" and plays, had Elizabeth brought in from the church nursery to play the infant John the Baptist in the musical drama "Bells of Bethlehem." Aimee prophesied of Elizabeth: "This baby girl shall be an end -time handmaiden and prophetess of the Lord." Pursuing the Calling: Raised in the Four Square Movement, Elizabeth was born again at age eight and filled with the Spirit when she was only ten. She felt the call to preach when she was twelve. Eventually distracted by the cares of the world, Sister Elizabeth suffered the consequences and died from an allergic reaction to penecillin when she was twenty two. Leaving her body in death, she repented and promised the Lord to obey His call. The Lord mercifully brought her back to life.
In pursuit of the call to the ministry, Elizabeth graduated in the 1975 Charter Class of Rhema Bible Training Center. She is ordained as a Charter Member of RHEMA Ministerial Association. Prophesying about what the future held for Sister Elizabeth, Kenneth and Oretha Hagin gave and interpreted a message in tongues which said: "Great love and compassion and mercy would flow out of you to others . . . not only toward the lost but also toward the sick with great power. This will be as you come to learn and learn and learn. You will know more and more and more. So shall it be so and you will be made a blessing to multitudes." Among her accomplishments in a long and fruitful ministry, Rev. Pruitt-Sloan pioneered three churches, and has travelled extensively. Understanding the challenges ministers at all levels face, she was led of the Lord in 1979 to found a ministry association to provide a structure in which ministers can affiliate, network, and labor together. Originally called Faith Fellowship Church Ministries, it is also known as Helping Inspire Ministries (H.I.M.). This ministry association has grown to include 60 ministers serving the Lord nationally and internationally. Spiritual advisors to H.I.M. include Pastors Lee and Jan Morgans and Jack Coe Jr. Elizabeth's extensive ministry service has included teaching at: Victory Bible Institute, Tulsa, OK Lakewood Bible Institute, Houston, Texas New Life Bible College, Cleveland, Tennessee RHEMA Prayer and Healing School
